Most of the local and national Master's swim meets and some open water swims require that the participant is a USMS (United States Masters Swimming) or for the state division, COMSA (Colorado Master's Swim Association) member.   Becoming a member of COMSA is a good way to stay in touch with swim events, meets, open water swims, clinics, etc..
